How Some Jabroni Would’ve Booked the Road to WrestleMania 33 Part 1

Being in the month of March could only mean that we’re on the road to WrestleMania. With WrestleMania 33 being a little under a month away, we’re seeing a lot of changes in the WWE. Bray Wyatt is now WWE Champion, John Cena has tied Ric Flair’s record of being a 16 time World Champion, and Goldberg (never thought I would say this in the year 2017) is now WWE Universal Champion.

There’s a lot of questionable booking going into this year’s show of shows, like are we really going to see Goldberg vs Lesnar III for the Universal Championship, or why is John Cena and the Miz facing each other in a mixed tag team match. Many people think they could do a better job at booking these shows and creating these matches. I’m going to do just that in this article, book the matches that I think should happen at “The Grandest Stage of Them All” WrestleMania 33. I’m not just gonna fantasy book WrestleMania 33 but the matches on the road to WrestleMania. But what do I know…I’m just some internet jabroni.

First we have to erase some of the events of the past couple of months, like Randy Orton winning the Royal Rumble match, Cena beating AJ Styles at the Rumble event, and Goldberg winning the Universal Championship at Fastlane. With Cena never winning the WWE Championship for the 16th time, this also means Bray Wyatt never winning the title at Elimination Chamber (don’t worry kids, would’ve had Cena and Bray Wyatt winning the titles down the line).

Being as AJ Styles has already beaten John Cena twice in Pay Per View singles matches, and as great as Cena vs. Styles from the Royal Rumble was, I would’ve added a stipulation to the match. One option would’ve been making the match a 2 out of 3 falls match. My main option would’ve been to make the match a 60 minute Iron Man Match. With the event being advertised as 4 hours and it only going 3 1/2 hours, when it came to time, it was possible to make the match. As for as the superstars go, there’s no other two superstars that I would put in an Iron Man Match than Cena and Styles. Would’ve had Styles score a pinfall close to the 60 minute mark and making that the only pinfall of the match. Having Styles come out on top means him going into the Elimination Chamber event as WWE Champion.

Another change to the Royal Rumble event would be the Royal Rumble match itself. This year’s Royal Rumble match saw Randy Orton coming out the victor in the 30 man over the top battle royal. Orton winning the match came to a shock to most. To me the decision was very questionable as I would’ve had Chris Jericho win it for his first time ever. What better superstar to win it than the person that pretty much single handedly made Raw watchable since the draft. With Jericho winning the Rumble, and Kevin Owens being the Universal Champion, this would’ve created tension between best friends JeriKO.

Final 2017 Royal Rumble card:

  1. WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match: Charlotte Flair (c) defeats Bayley
  2. No Disqualification match for the WWE Universal Championship: Kevin Owens (c) defeats Roman Reigns
  3. WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Neville defeats Rich Swann (c)
  4. WWE Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) defeats John Cena
  5. 30-man Royal Rumble match for a world championship match at WrestleMania 33: Chris Jericho wins by last eliminating Roman Reigns

This has been the first part of How Some Jabroni Would’ve Booked the Road to WrestleMania 33. Parts 2 and 3 will be posted in the upcoming weeks.
