How Some Jabroni Would’ve Booked the Road to WrestleMania 33 Part 3

In part three of “How Some Jabroni Would’ve Booked the Road to WrestleMania 33″ we take a look at WWE’s flagship show, Raw, which also had a WWE Network Special before “The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment.” A few weeks after Elimination Chamber, the 2017 edition of Fastlane took place on March 5th which would have Goldberg facing the WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens in the main event. Fastlane was a very forgettable event with there being a few good matches, which included the Match of the Night from Neville and Jack Gallagher.

As much as the IWC would hate to admit, another good match came from Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. This was a match that I would have waited to showcase at the “Showcase of the Immortals.” Instead Braun Strowman would be put into a rematch of the entertaining encounter from Raw between Big Show. Strowman would come out the victor leading into his match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.

With Reigns and Strowman being pushed back to this year’s “the Ultimate Thrill Ride” WrestleMania, where does this leave Reigns heading into Fastlane? This leads Roman into a rematch for the United States Championship against Chris Jericho. Reigns gets his hand raised in victory, winning back the United States Championship and becoming two time champion.

Big Show being in a match against Strowman means Sheamus would replace Big Show in the match against Rusev. Cut a few minutes from this match and the Cesaro/Jinder Mahal match and give Samoa Joe vs Sami Zayn an extra five more minutes.

Many fans were disappointed with the main event but did you really expect an actual match from the 50 year old Goldberg.

Goldberg came out the new WWE Universal Champion due to Chris Jericho distracting Kevin Owens (oldest trick in the book). After being the top two names on Raw, and one of the most enjoyable parts of Monday nights week after week, the match building between the two best friends would no longer be for the top prize on Raw. Couldn’t Lesnar have came out during the match and laid out both Goldberg and Owens? This is how I would’ve booked it. With Lesnar destroying both Goldberg and Owens, the match becomes a no contest and the title doesn’t change hands. Kevin Owens retains the championship and goes into WrestleMania 33 as the WWE Universal Champion.
